Licensing Models
The Real Games products are offered with two licensing options:
Stand-alone licenses
Stand-alone licenses are called node-locked licenses because each license is bound to a single machine. This licensing system will take a finger-print of your hardware and send it our servers, locking the license to the current machine. You will invariably need to move software activated on one machine to another. To support this, ITS PLC includes an activation wizard that allows the deactivation of the software from the current machine before it is allowed to be activated on another.
Network licenses
Network licensing lets multiple users share ITS PLC across multiple machines. It is sometimes known as concurrent licensing or floating licensing. This is a licensing approach in which a limited number of ITS PLC licenses are shared among several users. When a user wishes to run ITS PLC, a license is requested to a license server. If there are licenses available, the license server allows ITS PLC to run. When the user finishes using the application the license is returned to the license server and will become available to another user.
Licenses Types
For each licensing model you can choose two types of licenses:
Activation Key
The activation key is a number assigned to identify your copy of ITS PLC. It is unique to each customer, and should not be lost or shared with others. Please note that an activation key requires an internet connection for the activation process.
Hardware Key (USB)
USB hardware keys offer greater flexibility over other forms of software activation because they are not limited to use on a single computer. This allows end-users to easily change computer without hassle, while still maintaining complete integrity of the license. The USB license used by ITS PLC does not require the installation of drivers, just plug in the key and you are ready to go.
